Rags, Wipers and Absorbents absorb leaks, drips and spills

Machine shops are the oldest industry that Y-pers has served. Having been in business since 1922, we have a number of machine shop customers. It doesn’t matter if your machine shop is a room, entire building or a division within a larger company, machining is something that all companies utilize to make their manufacturing succeed.

From the minute you step foot in a machine room, you see our products being used. Tracking oils and grease from the machine shop to the office has always been a problem, that’s why we created the Absorbent Sticky Mat. This adhesive absorbent roll lays flat onto any service and will absorb the oil, dirt, and grease from tracking from one room to the next.

Whether a machine leaks oil or a water based substance, all machines have runoff. To prohibit runoff pooling throughout the shop, use absorbent pads and rolls. We have pads for oil only leaks and universal pads that will absorb oil and water pads are great when you have a small consistent leak or spill while oil absorbent rolls can cover a much larger area. Some machine shops will even use oil only socks around the legs of a machine to help with oil runoff.

When it comes to wiping down your parts and tools, our cleaning rags are certainly the best for the job. Rags are a staple in all machine shops. We have cotton rags which are manufactured from both recycled and new cotton at a wide variety of price points. Recently, disposable paper wipers have become increasingly popular with machine shops. These are consistent in size, shape and color and can be super strong. (Check out our X-tra Tuff Series if you don’t believe us) You can’t go wrong between choosing a recycled rag or industrial wipers for your machine shop.

Finally, all machine shops are hands on. Working closely with your hands it is important to have the right safety gloves for the job. Nitrile gloves  are a great everyday work glove to keep your hands clean, but don’t provide great protection vs blades or sharp edges. Our wide variety of cut level gloves are a must to ensure a safe work environment. Lastly, all of our safety glasses provide scratch and splash resistance. We even have glasses that will of impact and splash resistance.
