Oil Absorbents for Boats, Marinas and Yachts

If you have a motorized boat, own or work in a marina or have a yacht, oil absorbents are a must have on your list. Motorized boats, marinas and yachts all involve the use of gasoline and oil on the ocean. As we all know, gas, oil and the ocean don’t mix and cause harm to oceanic life. Making sure that your motorized boat and marina are well stocked with the proper oil absorbents for the ocean is very important. Here are some of the items you should always have on hand:

Oil Only Absorbent Pads

Oil only absorbent pads are meant to repel water and oil absorbent oil, making them the perfect tool for the ocean. These pads will float on the top of the water, only absorbing the oil or gasoline that is sitting on top of the ocean creating that shiny sheen. These are the absorbents we recommend:

Oil Absorbent Booms

Oil Absorbent Booms are great for larger spills on open water where you have to contain a spill. Booms come in a variety of lengths and widths, so please choose the one that is right for your application. What makes oil absorbent booms great is that they come packed in an outside netting that has little clips on them, so you can connect the booms together to form a large circle on the water to contain the oil or gasoline that has spilled.

Oil Spill Sweeps

Oil absorbent spill sweeps are meant to remove the final sheen (or shine) from the surface of the ocean. These sweeps are 19” wide and 100’ long which allows them to cover a large area. The sweeps have snap hooks on each end that attached to fasteners on boats. The boat then can move across the affected area to “sweep up” up the final sheen.

Bilge Booms

Bilge Booms are meant specifically for the bilge of large boats where oil or gasoline tends to float in a confined space. The bilge booms have an attached rope loop to anchor them while the boom floats on top of the bilge, only absorbing any oil or gasoline on the surface.

Oil Only Pom Pom Absorbents

Pom Pom absorbents are specifically designed to float on water and collect heavy oil. They are made of flat and chemical resistant filaments. They can be reused after draining or with #1 or #2 weight oils. The oil extracted from this process can be recycled or downgraded as fuel oil.
