We get asked all the time – “What are the best white cotton rags?” and the first reply is always “it depends.” Now, we know that isn’t the answer anyone wants to hear. You want us to tell you that this is definitely the best white cotton rag and there is nothing better. But really, when discussing white cotton rags, there are a lot of factors to consider.

Some of those factors are:

Price of the rags – we have white cotton rags that range in price. The type of rag and material is it made out of varies at different price points

These rags are 100% Cotton and prewashed, meaning they are the most consistent white cotton rags on the market in terms of material as well as absorbency. However, these are also the most expensive rags on the market. They are all unused and made of virgin material, so no seams, logos or stains on any of these rags. These rags are also the most lint-free of the white cotton rags.

Some customers want the white t-shirt rags, but find the sizes we sell them in too big and some of the rag goes to waste. We have smaller cut white t-shirt rags as well. These rags range in size, but the biggest they are is 12”x12”, but most pieces are smaller. Great for staining and wiping.

These rags are manufactured from old white t-shirts. They offer great absorbency because all the rags have been used before and washed, however not every piece is the same. You will get seams with these rags as well as some odd sized pieces. They are at a good price point for someone looking for white rags, but do not expect consistency with these rags.

In the rag industry, when the term “fleece” is used, it is also another word for sweatshirt. These rags are manufactured from old white sweatshirts and cut down to size. One side of the rag is fleece material, while the other side is a bit rougher. These are the cheapest of the white cotton rags and are good for general cleanup, but they do not absorb that much.

These rags are made from repurposed knitted sheets (the sheets with the elastic on them). They are all cotton and prewashed. We cut them by hand, so the sizes are pretty consistent and they are absorbent. They aren’t as soft or bright white as the New white t-shirt rags, but they are a great rag for cleaning, staining and wiping down products. Plus, they are consistent in performance and not as expensive as the new white t-shirt rags

These rags are manufactured from baby blankets from hospitals. They are 100% cleaned and sanitized before we get them. When we receive them in, we cut them down to proper rag size. They super absorbent as they are nice and thick as well as prewashed. Also, they are consistent in absorbency as every piece is pretty much the same. Plus, they are very soft.

Again, these rags are from hospitals. These are the thicker heavy blankets that are used to warm patients in the hospital rooms. They are all cleaned and washed. These rags are really absorbent as they are thick. These white cotton rags are at a great price point and great for harder types of cleaning, as they have a bit of grit to them and will absorb liquids and fluid quickly.

These are the most absorbent white cotton rags, as they are recycled towels from industrial laundry facilities. They are very thick and absorbent, as they are prewashed. Also, they are very soft. They are hemmed on all the edges as well to cut down on lint. They can be washed and reused.

These rags are the same as our normal terry towel rags, but we cut them down to smaller sized pieces. Not all jobs requires larger rags (20”x24”) and some customers want the pieces to be smaller, so that is where these rags came in. They are great for cleaning, wiping and scrubbing. They can be washed as well.

These rags are all 100% cotton and new wash cloths. They are called “B-grade” wash cloths because there are slight imperfections in their look and appearance (nothing that we would noticed, but they are not meant for retail sale). All of these wash cloths are 100% cotton terry cloth and 12”x12” in size. Each and every rag is pretty much the same and they are great for wiping and cleaning. They can also be laundered.

White sheeting rags are exactly how the description sounds – they are manufacture from repurposed sheets from laundry facilities. We make sure they are washed and cleaned and we cut them down to proper size. For cotton rags, these rags do a great job as they are low linting and consistent. However, they are not that thick so they are not that absorbent. But if you want a rag for wiping down glass, cleaning up glue or wiping down parts, these rags are great.

These rags are the standard and original rag. They are 100% cotton white shop towels. Each rag is the same size, texture and absorbency. They are 13”x14” in size and have 50 rags per pack. They are great for grease clean up and mechanics uses. Plus, we made these rags white so the color won’t bleed.
